The Heathcare.gov marketplace is a large and complex environment. The MSI team lead governance and coordinates activities across teams and provides technical guidance/oversight of the architecture for a complex, interoperable set of systems.

OEDA - BCDA/DPC
Beneficiary Claims Data API/Data at the Point of Care
BCDA: Enables Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) to retrieve Medicare Part A, Part B, and Part D claims data for their aligned beneficiaries.
DPC: Shares Medicare Fee-For-Service data with healthcare providers that can be used at the point of care to inform them of things they don't already know, to confirm things that are suspected, to fill gaps in care, and to improve patient safety.

CCSQ - EQRS
End Stage Renal Disease Quality Reporting System
CMS aims to refine and standardize dialysis care measures, ESRD data definitions, and data transmission to support the needs of Medicare’s ESRD program; empower patients and consumers by providing access to facility service and quality information; provide quality improvement support to dialysis providers; assure compliance with conditions of coverage; and build strategic partnerships with patients, providers, professionals, and other stakeholders.

CCSQ - iQIES
Internet Quality Improvement & Evaluation System
IQIES replaced a system called QIES (Quality Improvement and Evaluation System) which was developed to collect, analyze, and report data in long-term care settings. The system focused on providing a centralized platform for efficient and accurate reporting and improving the overall quality of information used for regulatory purposes and quality improvement initiatives in long-term care. iQIES built upon that foundation and extended its capabilities to inpatient settings as well.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is working on the overarching multi-year plan to shift all systems to the cloud. The cloud offers the opportunity to make it easier, faster, and cheaper to build and deploy modern, customer-focused applications and systems. There are several strategies for cloud migration, among them: rehosting (moving to the cloud with no changes), re-platforming (minimal changes to take advantage of some cloud capabilities) and refactoring (significant changes to fully take advantage of cloud-native services and technologies).
